CEIU Women’s and Steel Workers Breakfast before the March 2024
The International Women’s Day March in Toronto was more than just a city celebration.
It was a powerful testament to the strength and unity of women everywhere. Hosted by the incredible women of the CEIU Regional Women’s Committee, it was an eye-opening experience that left a lasting impact of advocacy, sisterhood and strength.
We didn’t just march; we raised our voices; we demanded change and stood in solidarity with women in the streets of downtown Toronto. It was a day dedicated to honoring the achievements of women, promoting gender equality, and amplifying our collective voice for justice and empowerment.
Together, along with our passionate Mayor Olivia Chow, we celebrated the social, economic, cultural, and political strides of women while recognizing the invaluable contributions they make to society. Despite facing adversity and discrimination, we stood tall together, united in our mission to create a more inclusive and equitable world.

In the face of a patriarchal system, we refused to be silenced. We made noise, we demanded rights, and we fought for justice in every aspect of life—from the workplace to politics, education, and healthcare. Our message was loud and clear: women’s rights are human rights and equality must be achieved.
As we reflect on our journey and celebrate our victories, let us also remember the resilience, courage, and determination of women globally who do not have a voice. They are the driving force behind our movement, breaking down barriers and paving the way for a brighter future.
Now is the time to take action and stand in solidarity with women everywhere. Together, we can build a more equitable world for all—one where every woman is valued, respected, and empowered!
In Solidarity,
