Seasons greetings from your Local Women’s Committee, and an update on our path ahead for the new year.
Did You Know?… April is International Black Women’s History Month! Established in 2016 in the city of Atlanta to uplift and support the achievements of Black and minority women, and to build understanding and awareness of the contributions of Black women to the world.

My name is Sarah and I am the Chair of our newly established Women’s Committee for the Richmond Hill office! Read about how the Women’s Committee was formed and what we hope to achieve.
The International Women’s Day March in Toronto was more than just a city celebration–it was a powerful testament to the strength and unity of women everywhere. Hosted by the incredible women of the CEIU Regional Women’s Committee, it was an eye-opening experience that left a lasting impact of advocacy, sisterhood and strength.
Local 541 empowers and invests in women. For International Women’s Day, we hosted a virtual event highlighting two impactful women at PDOC. We also announced the Women’s Committee and Education Reimbursement Fund!
The Women’ Committee joined by women across all government departments and members of equity groups led a training called “Diversity Grows Our Strength” from February 29 to March 3. I had the privilege of participating in the International Women’s Day March, Saturday March 2, to create exposure for our union local.
